How this service works

1. Reach out

Call Teladoc Health on 1800 830 082 for a private discussion.

2. Speak with a mental health nurse

You’ll speak with a mental health nurse online. They will talk with you to understand how they can best help. You'll be matched with a qualified psychiatrist or psychologist within ten days.

3. Talk to an expert 

You will speak with a psychiatrist or psychologist for a one-hour video call. They will put together a detailed report outlining your diagnosis and treatment options.

4. Plan a way forward 

The mental health nurse will explain the expert’s findings in the report to you on a video call. Medicare can provide a rebate for up to ten sessions of therapy per year. Therapy can be completed through Teladoc Health or by an expert in your local area.

The mental health nurse will:

  • work with you and your GP to organise any medication
  • put in place a Medicare mental health plan if necessary
  • support you for up to six months. 

5. Check in

The mental health nurse will touch base with you in six months to see how you are going and help adjust your plan if needed.
