Access Member Online and important features

Watch this short video to show you how to register, log into and update your communications preferences through your Member Online account.

[00:00:07] To get started, head to our Member login page by clicking login and selecting the first option Member Online. Then log in to your Member Online account. Never logged in before? Click 'Register here' at the bottom of the login page. You'll need your member number and you'll be asked to choose a password. If you've recently received a new member number from us, please use this number to register, even if you've registered before using a different member number.

[00:00:38] When you've logged in, you'll see our dashboard that summarises your account information, including your investments, recent payments, personal details, and more. If you have more than one account, you can switch between them. Click on an account under 'My accounts' and the dashboard will display the selected account details.

[00:00:59] Let's look at My details. Here you can change your address, email address, username or password. Click on 'Change my details' in the My details card or go to the Profile dropdown menu and choose the first option, 'My details'. You can edit your details by clicking on the pencil icon in the card's top right side. Then click the personal information you want to change. When you're done, click the tick to finish.

[00:01:30] It's important your mobile number is up to date because we use it to verify some transactions like withdrawals. Want to change the way we contact you? Back under the Profile tab, just under 'My details', you'll find 'Communication preferences'. Here you can choose how you get correspondence from us, by email or post.

[00:01:54] Heading back to the dropdown menu under the Activity tab is 'Inbox'. Here you will find all our correspondence to you, including letters, emails and SMS with the most recent at the top of the list. You can filter correspondence by notification type and also select and download a copy of your notifications.

View your Member Online Inbox and My Activities

Watch this short video to show you how to view your Member Online inbox and track your requested or completed transactions in My activities.

[00:00:00] We've made it fast and easy to find all our notifications to you as well as all your completed and requested transactions.

[00:00:08] Log in to Member Online and go to the Activity tab. On the dropdown menu the first two options are Inbox and My activities.

[00:00:18] First, we'll select Inbox. Here you'll find all our notifications to you, including emails and SMS with the most recent at the top of the list. You can search all notifications by notification type, and you can select a time span too.

[00:00:35] To download a copy, tick the box on the right of the notification and then click the download arrow, top right. The notification can be downloaded and viewed on your device.

[00:00:48] Heading back to the activity dropdown menu just under inbox, you'll find My activities. Here you will find transactions or enquiries you've made on your account with the most recent at the top of the list.

[00:01:02] Each activity has a corresponding Show details button. Click it to reveal more detail on that activity. You can also click on Show search if you're looking for older activities. Search by timeframe or reference number or both.

Making a direct debit contribution

[00:00:00] Want to make a contribution to your super? It's as easy as making a bank transfer, here's how. Log into Member Online and go to the Contributions tab.

[00:00:10] From the dropdown menu select Make a contribution. If you haven't added your bank details, you'll be asked to add them now so we can complete the transaction.

[00:00:20] At the top of the contributions page is information on contribution limits. It's a good idea to have a read through before deciding how and what to contribute. When you're ready scroll down the page to find the next step.

[00:00:35] We're choosing once off. Click continue. Enter the amount you want to contribute and click continue. Review the terms and conditions and tick the box confirming you've read them. Click Submit.

[00:00:49] It's easy to track the contribution you've submitted. Go to the Activity tab and select My activities from the dropdown menu. Here you'll find your contribution.

[00:00:59] Click on Show details to see how it's progressing. Allow about three days for processing and you can check back here to track the progress of your contribution.

Complete the tax deduction claim online

You can complete a Notice of Intent form to claim a tax deduction online. It takes just a few minutes in your Member Online account.  

You should do this once your contribution has processed and hit your super fund account, not before. You can check the status of your contribution, in Member Online. Go to ‘Activities’ tab and select 'My activities.'   

You must process the tax deduction claim online before you lodge your tax return for that year and within a year of the end of the financial year in which you made the contribution.

[00:00:00] If you've made a personal super contribution, it's fast and easy to make a personal tax deduction online.

[00:00:06] Log in to Member Online and go to the Activity tab and from the dropdown menu, select My activities. Here you can check the processing of recent personal super contributions that you've made into your account.

[00:00:20] Then navigate to the contributions tab and from the dropdown menu select Personal contribution tax deduction claim. You can choose to make a new tax deduction or change an existing claim. We're choosing to make a new claim for the 2022 to 2023 financial year.

[00:00:40] Next, simply add the amount you've contributed and click Continue. Review the declaration and if you agree, click to tick the confirmation box. Click Continue.

[00:00:52] The last step is to review the details you've entered. If you need to change any details, click Back. If the details are correct, click Submit. Scroll back up to the top of the page to see a confirmation that your request is submitted.

[00:01:09] You can track your tax deduction claim back in the My Activities area. Click on Show details to see how it's progressing.

How to add a bank account

[00:00:00] Adding your bank account to your Aware Member Online account makes it easy to make your own super contributions.

[00:00:07] Before you get started, there are some things you'll need to have handy. The mobile phone you've registered to your Aware Super account and two forms of Australian ID.

[00:00:18] Start by logging into your Member Online account and go to the Profile tab. From the dropdown menu select Bank account details.

[00:00:26] To add a new account, click the plus button at the top right of the screen. Enter your name, BSB number and account number. Click Save Details. You then need to review your details and it's worth double checking that these are correct. When you're ready to proceed, tick the confirmation box and click Submit bank details.

[00:00:49] For your security will need to verify your ID. We need two forms of Australian identification from the list of options presented on screen. Select the first form of ID you want to submit. Add your details, check the consent box, then click Verify the details.

[00:01:09] Select a second form of ID and add your details. Click consent and then Verify the details. Click Continue.

[00:01:20] Next, we will send a one time pin to your mobile phone. Enter the PIN number and click Next to confirm.

[00:01:27] Once both your IDs are confirmed, your bank account will be automatically saved and details securely stored.

Make a lump sum withdrawal

[00:00:00] It's fast and easy to make a lump sum withdrawal from your super in Member Online. You will need to have with you the mobile phone registered to your Member Online account.

[00:00:10] Log in to Member Online and go to the withdrawals tab. From the dropdown menu choose Super lump sum withdrawal. At the top of this page is information on lump sum withdrawals. It's a good idea to read through this.

[00:00:25] When you're ready scroll down the page to find the next step. Here you have release conditions that apply to you. When you're ready select an option. Click continue.

[00:00:36] Enter the amount you want to withdraw. You have the option to choose an amount before tax or after tax. Click the information icon to read more on these options. Once you've entered an amount, click continue.

[00:00:52] Next, check your name, BSB number and account number. If you want to add a new account, you can do that now. Click continue. Review your details. When you're ready tick the box confirming that you've read and accept the Declaration and our Privacy Policy. Click Submit.

[00:01:11] Next, we will send a one time PIN to your mobile phone. Enter the PIN number and click next to confirm. Scroll up to the top of the page to see a confirmation that your withdrawal is submitted.

[00:01:24] It's easy to track the progress of your withdrawal. Click My activities. Here you'll find your transaction. Click on Show details to see how it's progressing. Allow about three days for processing and you can check back here to track the progress of your application.

Claim a financial hardship withdrawal

Watch this short video to show you how to claim a financial hardship withdrawal.

[00:00:00] If you are in financial hardship, you may be able to withdraw money from your Aware Super account to help cover your living expenses. Here's how, including the paperwork you will need to provide us to complete the transaction on your behalf.

[00:00:15] Start by signing into your Member Online account and go to the withdrawals tab. From the dropdown menu select Financial hardship withdrawal. At the top of this page is information on when a person is eligible to make a financial hardship claim on their super. When you're ready to proceed scroll down the page to read the eligibility criteria. Tick the box to confirm. Click Continue.

[00:00:44] Next, we need to verify your government income support. You have the option to authorise us to contact Centrelink on your behalf or upload a certified document that you have obtained from Centrelink or the Department of Veterans Affairs. For this demonstration we will provide a document, the Q230 letter issued by Services Australia. The letter must be a digital PDF file and be downloaded to the device you're using. To upload it, you can either drag and drop it onto the upload zone or browse to select the file. When the document has finished uploading, use the calendar to enter the date on the letter. Click Continue.

[00:01:27] Next, enter the amount you want to withdraw. It's important to remember that tax will be deducted from the amount you enter before it's paid to you. Click Continue.

[00:01:38] Next, we need your bank details so we can complete the transaction. Add the account name, BSB and account number. Click Proceed. If you want to add a new account, you will be prompted to do that now. Check out our video "how to add your Bank Details" for help. If we already have your bank details, review the details and if they're correct, tick the confirmation box and click submit.

[00:02:04] It's easy to track the status of your withdrawal claim. Go to the Activity tab and select My activities from the dropdown menu. Here you'll find your Financial hardship claim. Click on Show details to see how it's progressing. Allow about 3 to 5 business days for processing and you can check back here to track the progress of your application.
