Overview

Our High Growth Socially Conscious option is managed with specific restrictions and exclusions known as screens.1 It seeks to avoid or restrict investments in certain industries and companies considered to have a highly adverse environmental or social impact.

The option has a large allocation to growth assets like shares and private equity, with a target split of 88% growth assets and 12% defensive assets. It’s designed to make the most of the potential to grow members’ savings by maximising returns over the long term.

This option is not available to members with a Retirement Income account.

Why you’d invest

This might be a suitable option if you:
 

  • want to limit your investment in particular industries and companies with highly adverse environmental or social impacts,
  • are seeking to maximise your long-term returns,  
  • can accept significant fluctuations in returns. This includes years when returns are negative, and  
  • are prepared to stay invested in the option for 10 years or longer.
