Aware Super has been named Best Super Fund and received a string of other accolades at Money Magazine’s prestigious annual awards, the Best of the Best.

The fund – one of Australia’s biggest, with $150 billion under management – snared five awards at the 2023 Best of the Best Awards including:

  • Best Super Fund
  • Best MySuper Lifecycle Product
  • Best Value Super Fund for Young People
  • Best Growth Super Product
  • Best Moderate Pension Product (VicSuper)

Aware Super’s Chief Executive Officer, Deanne Stewart, said the awards were a testament to everything the fund was doing to deliver the best retirement outcomes for its 1.1 million members.

”Our members love the fact they’re with one of Australia’s best-performing funds – a fund that consistently delivers strong long-term returns,” Ms Stewart said. ”The work we do for our members goes so much further, though, and we know how much this means to them.

”Our members tell us how much they value our extensive range of advice, guidance and education services and tools to help them achieve the best possible outcomes for retirement.

”We have market-leading digital capability – including an app that has won three major design awards in as many years – so our members can engage with us how and when they want, and the rapid take-up of these services has shown just how much members appreciate them.

”We’re taking advantage of our scale as one of Australia’s largest funds to continue building our in-house investment capability – one of many intitatives to further reduce costs for our members.

”We’re also passionate advocates on important issues that can improve their lives and financial security. And as well as ensuring they’re earning strong long-term returns on their retirement savings, we look for opportunities for that money to have a positive impact in the community.

”Our members tell us how much they appreciate all this, and it’s a message we want to share with all Australians – to let them know they can also be part of a super fund that offers so much, and we’d love to welcome them to the fold.

”These awards are a wonderful recognition of all we provide for our members, and will help us share that message with everyone, so we’re delighted to receive them from Money Magazine.”

Previously called First State Super, the fund merged with VicSuper and WA Super in 2020, when it was rebranded Aware Super.

Note to Editors

Previously known as First State Super, we changed our name to Aware Super in September 2020.

Aware Super is a name that reflects our members and what we stand for. It echoes the strengths of our past, aligning to our purpose to be a force for good in superannuation, retirement, and advice, driving better outcomes for our members, their families, and communities.

Aware Super has been the fund for people who value community since 1992, and we’re now one of Australia’s largest funds and continuing to grow. We merged with VicSuper and WA Super in 2020 and now manage $155 billion in savings for more than 1 million members located across the country.

Our members work in roles that breathe life into their communities and they expect us to do the same. So, we invest in assets that we believe will make a positive difference today – improving our communities, building a more a sustainable economy and supporting employment both locally and globally at the same time as providing strong long-term returns.
