Aware Super has won three major accolades at the 2026 Money Magazine Life Insurance Awards, sweeping the group insurance categories alongside its insurance partner TAL.

Aware was named the winner of Best-Value Insurance in Super, recognising the value of its insurance offering across all risk types and age groups. The fund was also recognised as offering the Best-Value Death Insurance in Super for both men and women.

The Money Magazine Life Insurance Awards, now in their second year, are underpinned by independent research from Rainmaker Information, which analysed more than 10,000 death, total and permanent disability and income protection insurance offerings from public-offer, AAA-rated super funds.

Aware Super’s Head of Protect (Insurance and Claims), Belinda Nicholson, said the awards reflected the fund’s commitment to delivering meaningful, affordable protection to its 1.3 million members.

“With $235 billion in funds under management, our scale helps us secure a good deal from insurers and as a profit-for-member fund, we don’t pay profits to shareholders but re-invest any profits for members’ benefit,” Ms Nicholson said.

“These advantages mean we can give our members a great product that’s easy to access and has low premiums.”

According to the Money Magazine analysis, a 30-year-old Aware Super member receives $266,667 in cover for every dollar of weekly premium across the fund’s insurance menu, ahead of every other public-offer, AAA-rated super fund assessed. For death cover, a 30-year-old white collar professional pays just $52 a year for $300,000 of cover, while a 30-year-old woman pays $47, the lowest premiums in the comparison.

Ms Nicholson said service was an essential part of a great insurance offering, and Aware Super was constantly working to make claims more straightforward for members and their families.

“Aware Super strives constantly to make the claims process more straightforward and accessible, with features such as our online disability claim lodgement process, tele-claims service, and the ability for our members to make online, binding death benefit nominations,” Ms Nicholson said.

“Every Aware Super insurance claim is managed by a dedicated case manager, ensuring members and claimants receive prompt support and answers to any questions.”

Aware Super’s insurance is provided by TAL, which was named Money Magazine’s Life Insurer of the Year (Group) for 2026.
