If you think you've been scammed, the steps you take in the next few minutes matter.   • You shared personal information like passwords, pins or banking details with someone who contacted you and told you they're from Aware Super or another trusted organization.

  • You've clicked a link in an email or text and entered your login details on a website that, at first glance, looked like the real thing or official.

  • You transferred money or moved your super based on urgent instructions from someone you thought you could trust.

  • You see transactions or changes in the account that you didn't make.

If you think you've been scammed, take these steps immediately. Speed matters. So, let's move quickly.

Step 2 — If you've shared banking details, contact your bank immediately. They can freeze transactions and protect your account.

Step 3 — Change your passwords, especially your email and super account passwords. Make them strong and unique. If it's not already in place, enable two factor authentication right away.

Step 4 — Once you've taken these steps, then report it. Go to cyber.gov.au to report the scam. Look for the report button. Reporting helps authorities track scammers and protect others.
