A TPA gives an authorised representative information-only access to an Aware Super member's accounts.

Applying for a Third Party Authority

With a TPA, you can:

  • Support a member with their super
  • Access the member's super account information they've authorised you to view 
  • Assist the member with their super, investments, insurance and retirement planning

Who can apply?

  • A financial adviser 
  • Another professional, such as a solicitor or accountant
  • A family member or friend

Before applying, you must have the member's consent.

Once you've submitted your request, we'll ask the member to review and approve it through Member Online.

Before you apply, it's important to know:
  • You must have the member's consent
  • To continue online, your details must match our records
  • If your details don't match our records, you'll need to complete the Third Party Authority paper form
  • The member must have access to Member Online to review and approve the request
  • Requests not approved within 30 days will expire
A TPA gives you information-only access to a member’s account

Once approved, a TPA is valid for up to 3 years unless revoked by the member. 

It doesn’t allow you to:

  • Change account or personal details
  • Make transactions
  • Act on behalf of the member
What happens after I apply?
  • We'll let the member know you've submitted a request
  • They’ll review the request in Member Online
  • If the member approves the request, we'll establish the authority
  • We'll send confirmation once the authority has been established

If the member doesn't take action within 30 days, the TPA request will expire.

By submitting a TPA request, you confirm that you've obtained the member's consent to provide their personal information to Aware Super.

Using a paper form

If you'd like to apply using a paper form, you can download and complete the Third Party Authority paper form. 

However, applying online is the quickest way to submit your request and have it reviewed by the member.
