The Fund of the Year award was judged across all key attributes that matter to delivering great outcomes for members, including investment performance and processes, fees, insurance, administration capabilities, member service and governance.
Aware also won the prestigious Lifetime Return award for a second time, recognising the strong risk-adjusted investment returns Aware Super delivers across a members’ lifetime through our default Lifecycle strategy, which adjusts investment risk based on a members’ life stage.
The dual recognition follows Aware being named Chant West's Retirement Fund of the Year earlier this year, cementing the fund's position as a leader in both superannuation and retirement.
Aware Super CEO Deanne Stewart said the SuperRatings awards recognised the fund’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for members.
"I am absolutely delighted that Aware Super’s dedication to our 1.2 million members and to delivering great retirement outcomes has been recognised with these prestigious awards,” Ms Stewart said.
"At the heart of Aware Super are our people, and this is well deserved affirmation of their care and connection with our members and their commitment to helping them achieve their retirement goals.”
Ms Stewart said the award wins also demonstrated that the fund’s major investments in technology, innovation and efficient administration were bearing fruit and helping deliver great retirement outcomes for members.
“We have purposefully set out to be an industry leader in technology and innovation, recognising that they are key enablers of great service, expert advice and strong investment outcomes.
“These awards show we are on the right track and inspire us to continue leading the way forward in super and retirement.”
Ms Stewart also congratulated TelstraSuper, which is completing a merger with Aware Super, for receiving the Best Advice Offering Award for the second year running, recognising the range, capability, quality and uptake of advice offered to members.
"This is another strong example of the clear alignment between our funds when it comes to helping members plan for and make good decisions about retirement, which was so central to the rationale of our merger," she said.
About Aware Super's awards
The Fund of the Year was awarded to the best fund judged across all the products it offers, with consideration given to its investment performance and processes, fees, insurance offering, administration capabilities, member servicing and governance practices.
The Lifetime Return award recognises the lifetime return generated by the investment strategy of a fund's lifecycle design, rewarding consistent long-term performance.
The winners of the SuperRatings Awards were selected by a judging panel of academics, business executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators, using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and underpinned by SuperRatings' annual review.
