As part of Aware Super’s new partnership with AFL team the GIANTS, the fund will roll out new financial literacy sessions to help Western Sydney households struggling with balancing household budgets amid today’s heightened cost-of-living pressures.

The sessions are to support the newly formed partnership which sees Aware Super become the GIANTS' official superannuation partner until 2026, and the GIANTS turning pink with the Aware Super brand featuring on the team's AFL shorts from round 20.

Aware Super CEO Deanne Stewart said: "This is a very exciting new partnership for us. We are keenly aware of the significant number of members that we have in Western Sydney. Our partnership with the GIANTS will help provide meaningful support to the community and give back to our members and the broader GIANTS family."

"We're delighted to further strengthen the Western Sydney communities in which our members live, work and retire by working with the GIANTS to roll out programs such as financial literacy to help people deal with cost-of-living pressures.

"We know people are really feeling the pinch and we want to help them make their money go further, both now and into retirement. This will be a truly inclusive session with multicultural focus and of particular assistance for our many essential workers who live in the area."

The GIANTS trained in pink at the weekly captain's run with GIANTS CEO David Matthews unveiling the reason for the temporary pink takeover.

"We're thrilled to welcome Aware Super to our GIANTS family and see them feature prominently on our AFL shorts for the rest of this season and into 2025 and 2026," he said.

"This is a great alignment between our two brands with the partnership to help GIANTS members and fans not just with superannuation but with community support and programs aimed to assist supporters.

"As part of this partnership, Aware Super will be super helpful in our communities in Western Sydney and the surrounds by delivering programs in conjunction with one of, if not the best, community programs in professional sport at the GIANTS.

"This will take the form of financial literacy information sessions and a 'Super Helpful Round' each year, highlighting the great work volunteers, medics, nurses and first responders do for our communities."
