Want to get more out of your day? These simple tweaks can make it more productive.
Write down a list every morning
Plan out your day with a list of all activities that need addressing.
By writing out your list each morning, you can create a visual action plan to help you prioritise all tasks on hand, so that you are clear on what and when you need to complete any activities.
Most importantly, once you have created a list - stick to it!
Complete most important tasks first
This is the golden rule of time management.
Each day, identify the two or three tasks that are the most crucial to complete, and do those first.
Once you’re done, the day has already been a success. You can move on to other things, or you can let them wait until tomorrow. You’ve finished the essential.
Learn to say 'no'
It’s easy to overcommit yourself by always saying yes to helping others, attending activities, or engagements. One way to manage your time is to learn to say no!
Helping others is a great thing, but not at the expense of your own productive time. By focusing on staying productive in the tasks that you do, you will find you will have much more time to help others without cutting into your productivity.
Devote your entire focus to the task at hand.
This means closing all other browser windows, putting your phone on silent and out of sight and ridding other distractions so you can concentrate on this one task.
