Your statement includes a summary of your account and a list of your transactions from 1 July to 30 June for the previous financial year.

You’ll also find information about fees, your investment options, any insurance benefits you may be entitled to and a summary of the money coming in and going out of your account.

About your statement

Along with your statement, you'll receive a copy of your six-monthly member magazine, SuperNews. The magazine includes the latest fund news as well as an update on investment markets and information on recent changes to super.

Your statement includes transactions from 1 July up to 30 June for that financial year. If you want information about activity for the following financial year please log in to your account or contact us.

Reading your statement

This is your personal return for the year based on the actual investments you held. Your return could be different to the fund returns in the table. This would be due to the size and timing of transactions on your account during the year.

I want to learn why my individual rate of return is different

The entry ‘Other fees of your investment’ includes any fees and costs associated with the purchase, sale and ongoing management of the investments of your selected investment option(s) such as fees paid to investment managers, our custodian and brokers.

These ‘Other fees’ are paid from the assets of the investment option(s) before we calculate the unit price and are not deducted directly from your account.

Please note that we now include all indirect costs as ‘Other fees of your investments’, which is why the ‘Indirect costs of your investment’ this year is reported as nil.

Note that in these documents ‘Other fees of your investment’ are referred to as ‘Investment fees’. 

You can log in to your account to see your recent transactions, and current beneficiaries, insurance and investment choices. You can also download copies of your annual statements saved in your document centre.

To register for online access you’ll need to enter a one-time PIN which we’ll send to your mobile phone via SMS or to your email address.

To update your password, just enter the PIN within ten minutes of receiving it, so make sure your mobile phone is handy.

If we don’t have your mobile number or email address, we’ll ask you to give us a call to update your details.

When you receive emails from Aware Super they may periodically be placed in your junk or spam folder by your email software. The information below describes how to stop this from happening. The first step is usually to add Aware Super to your email contact list.

Why you may be having email problems

The volume of Spam and Junk Mail nowadays has caused ALL email providers to "filter" your emails on their mail server before they deliver them to you.

Unfortunately, these filters can be aggressive and are far from fool-proof. It's very common for email filters to mistake legitimate email for junk, so emails you want to receive don't get delivered to you.

How your email providers filtering system works

When someone sends you an email, it first arrives at your email provider’s mail server (e.g.,, etc) where their system filters each email by scanning it and checking it for spam. If the email looks legitimate, they then deliver it to your inbox.

But if their filter suspects the email might be junk, it places it in a separate "junk" folder where you can go in later and review it to decide for yourself if you want to receive it or not.

How to stop emails going to ’Junk mail’

Below are instructions for some popular email programs on how you can stop emails ending up in your junk mail (also known as whitelisting).

1. Gmail:

If your Aware Super email is in your Promotions folder, simply drag it to your Primary folder.
If your Aware Super email is in your Spam folder you can mark it as not spam by:

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. On the left, click More.
  3. Click Spam.
  4. Open the email.
  5. At the top, click Not spam.

To stop future messages from being sent to Spam in the future, you can add the sender to your Contacts. To do so follow these steps:

  1. On your computer, go to Google Contacts.
  2. At the top left, click Create contact.
  3. Click Create contact or Create multiple contacts.
  4. Enter the Aware Super email address.
  5. Click Save.

2. Outlook:

If your Aware Super email is in your Spam folder you can mark it as not spam by:

  1. On the Home tab, click Junk.
  2. Select the email message and then click Mark as Not Junk (you can right click to present this option too).
  3. The message will be moved to your Inbox.

To stop future messages from being sent to Spam in the future, you will need to add our email address, to your Safe Senders list. Safe senders are people and domains you always want to receive email messages from.

  1. Select File > Options
  2. Under Options, select Block or allow.
  3. Enter ’’ in the Enter a sender or domain here text box, and then press Enter.
  4. Select Save to save your changes.

Note: If you are using a corporate Outlook mailbox, you may not have permission to add contacts to your Safe Senders list.

3. Hotmail:

For Hotmail email addresses, Outlook Mail which is how you access your Hotmail emails, may send your Aware Super email to the spam folder. If you want to be sure that future emails are never marked as spam, you can add us to the Safe senders list. That way, Hotmail will never regard mail from Aware Super as spam.

  1. Click the settings gear icon at the top right of
  2. Click View all Outlook settings at the bottom of the pop-out menu.
  3. Go to Mail > Junk email.
  4. Type ‘’ into the text box in the Safe senders area.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click Save at the top of the page.

Other providers:

If you use a Web mail system or email application not listed above, the instructions for whitelisting our address will depend on the specific email program you are using. If you access the help files, instruction manual or customer support, there should be instructions on how to do this. In most cases, just by adding our Aware Super email address to your address book, safe list, white list or contact list will be sufficient.
If subsequent messages continues to be filtered, call or e-mail your ISP's technical support and ask how you can be sure to receive all e-mails from Aware Super.

Remember: If your Aware Super email is being filtered, try adding Aware Super to your Address Book, Safe list or Contact list. If this option is not available, try moving the message to your 'inbox' or forwarding the message to yourself. In a worst case scenario where you cannot get your email to accept our mails no matter how you try to configure your email account spam settings, you may need to provide us with another email address where we can send email to.

Managing your account

To tell us who you would like your super left to if you die you need to nominate your beneficiaries.

You’ll need to make a separate nomination for each account you have with us. A beneficiary nomination on one account does not apply to other accounts you may have with us.

You can change (or switch) investment options for your current balance, your future contributions, or both under Investment switch when you log in to your account. Simply enter the new percentages you would like to allocate to each option.

  • You can apply or make changes online – just log in to your account, view the insurance page and select Insurance Express Online, or
  • Download the relevant insurance form
  • Call us.

If you have compulsory Police Blue Ribbon or compulsory Ambulance Officer insurance you won’t be able to make changes to this insurance.

You may not receive your statement in the mail if you’ve moved and you didn’t update your details in time.

You can still view and download your statement online by logging into your account. If you would like us to mail you another copy of your statement free of charge, please contact us.

To ensure you receive important communications from us in the future, please provide us with your current address. You can do this by logging in to your account, completing the Change of member details form or contacting us. Also consider signing up for online statements. This way you’ll receive your statement wherever you are.

You can use our online tool to transfer and combine any other super accounts into your Aware Super account. You can also use the tool to find lost super.
