The ATO’s compliance flexibility period for small businesses ended on 28 October 2016.

All employers, regardless of size, are now expected to be making SuperStream compliant contributions. We’ve included an overview of compliant options below for those still working towards a solution.

Important: If you are still making contributions via our employer portal, please note this option is not SuperStream compliant. On 28 February 2018, this payment method will be permanently removed.

You must now choose another payment method. If you are unsure how to proceed, we’re here to help.

For small businesses

If you have 19 or fewer staff, or your annual turnover is less than $2 million per annum, you may be eligible to use the government's free clearing house solution.

For registered Aware Super employers

If you are a registered employer with us, you can apply to use our free online clearing house using your unique employer code.

Important: If your Aware Super employer code is a five-digit number starting with the letter Q, T, V or Y or is a six-digit number starting with 10, 11 or 12, you will need to upgrade your account before you apply for clearing house access.

For more information, call us on 02 4298 6013.

For employers with only a few Aware Super members

If you employ only a small number of Aware Super members, you may wish to make contributions to them using the SuperStream compliant option offered by your default super fund.

Alternatively, if you are a small business, you could consider using the government’s free clearing house (see above).

For new employers

Before you start making online contributions, you first need to register with us to receive your unique code. You can then use this code to access our clearing house.

Alternatively, if you are a small business or are making contributions to only a few First State Super members, you may wish to consider the options above.
